I know the McGreevy comment was sarcasm. And the Marcus Bachamnn comment was.....Lets move on.

I'm pretty sure that Father Z would say the same things to you about the pictures of giant boobed women you're always posting on your site.

Re: As Obama goes gay, more states are in play

Oh Curt, you're so predictably tedious. Bless your little heart.

The McGreevey comment was *sarcasm*. Surely you've heard of sarcasm.

As for "unnatural marriage," I'll let Father Z explain it to you.

Re: As Obama goes gay, more states are in play

"Add in blowback from Black churches and the once-vaunted Obama electoral machine seems dangerously close to coming off the rails."

I wouldn't place all of your chips on that hand if I were you.

"...doubled down on unnatural marriage,"

Explain to me how gay marriage is "unnatural" when homosexuality if found in over 200 different species in nature???

"calling for repeal of DOMA"

Because it is blatantly unconstitutional.

"he'll probably dump Joe Biden in favor of Jim "I am a Gay American" McGreevey. Hey, once you go gay, you may as well go all the way!"

Not according to Marcus Bachmann's "clinic".

Re: As Obama goes gay, more states are in play

Yeah, to quote Glenn Reynolds again, "don't get cocky kid."

Re: TSA, keeping us safe from Henry Kissinger

Yeah, only in Liberal-ville are Ho Chi Minh, Mao, Che, Fidel, Stalin, et al heroes of the proletariat while the one man who did more than anyone to counter communism and advance the cause of freedom is a "war criminal."

Re: As Obama goes gay, more states are in play

It's way too early to predict what will happen in November. Benedict XVI is changing that, for the better. First on the chopping block - the Magisterium Of Nuns.

Re: In humor there is truth, here's a great joke from today's church bulletin

I wouldn't say "sadly". I'm no church apologist, but in my opinion one of the things the Catholic Church has going for it is its, well, umm... "catholic" perspective. Explicitly aligning itself with a political ideology would undercut the church's moral authority.

Re: Kicking off National Offend A Feminist Week - feminuts kick boy off girls field hockey team

As a Catholic we know that women cannot nor will they ever be priests. It's a dogma of the faith. It ain't gonna happen. Yet there are those women who insist on trying to change the game so to speak. They are literally banging their butch hair cut heads against a brick wall. They want to be priests. It's more about them and their opinion of what constitutes equality than it does in serving God and his people. With that being said I have yet to know or meet one single man who wants to be a nun. Go figure.

Re: In humor there is truth, here's a great joke from today's church bulletin

Um, the punchline to that joke is "Hi Mitt."
A conservative, a moderate, and a liberal walk into a bar.

And the bartender says....

Hello Your Eminence.

Re: Mothers Day needs more mothers

Demographics old boy, demographics. All those new mosques aren't full of atheists.

The fastest growing religion among former Christians is atheism. Among Muslims, it's Islam.

Atheists don't breed, Muslims do. Vociferously.

Re: In humor there is truth, here's a great joke from today's church bulletin

Perfect - since I just got through perusing the Facebook page of a typical greenie-weenie, Obama loving, social justice advocate, dissident Jesuit priest at Gonzaga U in Spokane (which is completely off the rails.)

While there I was able to witness many of my former religious education students soaking up this trash. It is truly a tragedy.

Re: Mothers Day needs more mothers

The fastest growing religion today is no religion at all. I'm curious how that video would know that all those new babies are "Muslim" babies. Is religion genetic?
Hummer: 2000 Wh/mi
Camary: 1000 Wh/mi
Prius: 300 Wh/mi
Elite: 80 Wh/mi
Schwinn: 10 Wh/mi

Also, it should be noted that liquid H2 (not the car, the molecule) has near 1000 Wh/oz -- three times the energy density of fossil fuel.

My point being, yes, liquid hydrocarbon's have more energy than batteries, but there exist fuels with even higher energy density, and modes of transportation that don't require as much energy. Fossil fuel is a "local maxima" in the transportation efficiency game -- that's all. Society will eventually move to a different optimum once some event (war, famine, pestilence..) dislodges us from the current one.

Two centuries ago RPI guy Roebling pointed out that fossil fuel was a transient embarrassment of an energy solution, and whistfully noted that the Egyptians sustainably erected the pyramids with energy obtained from rice processed through Jews.
